The Booking Assistant for
Microsoft Winword (from version 6.0 on) was developed by TOPOS in co-operation with Le Petit Nice. It
provides a lot of useful tools for owners of guest houses and guest rooms in
order to manage everyday tasks in a simple, swift and safe way:
Specifications
of rooms, prices etc., that you enter once during the installation, are
available automatically for every new reservation.
Booking
data are entered into a dialog box that will check them on wholeness and
logical correctness and remind you on mistakes if necessary.
The
booking data are transferred into a monthly table for the reserved
room and into a monthly overview for all of your rooms.
Furthermore,
the most important statements to each reservation are written down into an
annual report where totals, gross, net and tax shares for the respective
year are calculated automatically.
In
order to confirm a booking or to write a bill, you just mark the desired
item in a list box. The Booking Assistant will automatically gather all
relevant data of the corresponding reservation and enter them into a form,
that you send as confirmation or bill, after having inserted the recipient's
address.
You
may easily store your customers' addresses in a special address file, on
which the respective form (confirmation or bill) will fall back for the
automatic insertion of the desired data.
According
to your personal preferences, you may redesign the forms yourself or have it
done by TOPOS (on additional charge). As well, feel free to ask for our
support, if you want to transfer a copy of your address data into the data
source file for the confirmations and bills that are generated by the
Booking Assistant.
By
a single mouse-click on an item in a list box, you may cancel an existing
reservation. The Booking Assistant will delete all corresponding entries in
tables and overviews and will recalculate the totals in the annual report.
Alterations
(e.g. to the number of your rooms or your tariffs) can easily be entered by
the configuration tool. After you have entered your current data, the
Booking Assistant will fall back on them for every new reservation,
confirmation or bill.
Deliberately,
the Booking Assistant was integrated into the environment of Microsoft Word,
the most familiar word processing program for the majority of PC users, and
it was shaped in a manner so that no particular computer knowledge is
required.

To download, click on the desired version. When you are prompted, what you want to do with the "demo9xx.exe" file, select the option "Save on my computer" and folder where to save the file. Next, go to that folder and unzip the files of the Booking Assistant contained in the "demo9xx.exe" file by double-clicking on its name. Afterwards, the file "liesmich.txt" resp. "liesmich.txt" should appear on your monitor. To install the Booking Assistant, just follow the instructions that are given there.
The present versions of the
Booking Assistant have been designed for the administration of up to six guest
rooms and for reservations that do not exceed two consecutive months. Existing
language versions: French and German (other languages on demand).
The
fonts Arial and Wingdings (included in Microsoft Windows) must be installed.
Necessary
disk space: Approximately 1 MB for the program itself plus approximately
0,8–2,3 MB (according to number of rooms) for the data files of a complete
year
