Fishing

The Ardèche offers more than 1.300 miles of lakes and rivers of the 1st fish-breeding category - among them not only the river of the Ardèche itself, but also the Allier, the Loire, the Espezonnette and the lake of Issarlès - and about 435 miles of the 2nd category.

For fishing, you will need a fishing permit, which includes the piscicultural contribution and the statutory subscription to one of the Ardèche fishing associations. For tourists, particular holiday permits are available.

The general and local rules and regulations that have to be observed are posted in town halls ("Mairie") or shown by specific signposts.
